Attend court proceedings to act as witnesses in court cases
Conduct security drills to test preparedness and vigilance for security emergencies

Coordinating and conducting security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective measures
Developing and delivering security training programs and sensitization initiatives to promote compliance with security standards and policies
Developing and enforcing security policies and standards in alignment with the University's operational framework
Gathering and analyzing information to develop preventive strategies that enhance the security of the University's assets and operations
Initiating and implementing programs and measures to prevent and address encroachments on university property
Investigation of disciplinary matters as referred by the Management Board
involving staff, students and other stakeholders within the university
Maintaining an up-to-date database of security incidents and trends, generating reports to the Chief Security Officer.
Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the security strategy to ensure compliance with policies, processes, and procedures that support the University's objectives
Participating in quality assurance programs to uphold and improve security standards
Perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time
Support the chief security officer in planning and coordinating of responses to security incidents, investigating violations, and contributing to disciplinary or legal actions as necessary
Supporting the chief security officer in preparing the budget and procurement plan for the security section
Training and monitoring outsourced security service providers to ensure they meet University security objectives and performance standards
Requirements
ACADEMIC
Bachelor’s Degree Iin security studies/ criminology in the revevant field from recognized institution with atleast three years experience as a security officer or comparable position in a reputable organization
KCSE Certificate or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Experience in a busy Human Resources Department for a minimum of 6 years.
Attained rank of inspector of police or equivalent in the disciplined forces
