Key Responsibilities
  •  Articulating the mission and vision of the University and the department.   
  •  Attending and participating in seminars, workshops, conferences etc. in relevant fields.   
  •  Carry out administrative and other duties & responsibilities as may be assigned
  •  Initiating, planning and conducting research. 
  •  May be assigned or delegated other duties and responsibilities by the Dean of School or COD as deemed necessary.
  •  Supervising postgraduate students in research activities.   
  •  Teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and post graduate students.   
  • Development of teaching and learning materials.   
  • Organizing and supervising educational activities for undergraduate students.   
  • Participating in development and preparation of Departmental and Faculty development plans.   
  • Participating in the departmental meetings and other activities for effective and efficient management of the Department and Faculty.   
  • Responsible to the chairperson of department, a Lecturer/lecturer shall have the following specific responsibilities: 
Requirements
ACADEMIC
Bachelor's Degree in Security Management Studies/Criminology or its equivalent from a recognized University
KCSE Certificate or equivalent
Masters Degree in Security Management Studies/Criminology or its equivalent from a recognized University
PhD in Security Management Studies/Criminology or its equivalent from a recognized University
EXPERIENCE
At least three (3) years of university teaching at the level of a full time Lecturer
MEMBERSHIP
Membership in professional bodies is desirable
